Licorice is a chewy, sweet and aromatic black substance made by evaporation from the extracted juices of a sweet root that is widely used for medical purposes. The sweet sap of this root is known to be sweeter than honey. This is what gave this fruit the name "Iratti Madhuram" which translates to double sweet in Malayalam.
The Licorice root has been used by ancient Egyptians since the 3rd century B.C. It is said to be very soothing for dry, itchy and irritated scalp.

Water – 4 oz
Dried licorice roots – 1 tsp
Place a saucepan filled with water on medium heat.
before it begins to boil, add the dried licorice roots.
Allow the mixture to come to boil.
Turn-off the burner and cover for 5-7 mins.
Strain the tea from roots.
Discard the roots.
Drink 2-3 times a week
Add abit of fleshly chopped ginger and then over for 5-7 mins. This is an age old remedy for cough and cold.
