Natural remedies are the best because they come with little to no side effects (little in the case of allergies) and have been used for hundreds of years. One such remedy specific for hair related problems is the use of Jojoba oil. Not only is it great for moisturizing the skin, but this oil is also very effective for hair growth.
But let’s take things step by step, starting with
Actually, it is not oil, but a mildly thick wax extract from the shrub Simmondsia Chinensis (scientific name), and is commonly found in the USA. Jojoba oil nourishes both hair and hair follicles and maximizes the growth rate. The oil had antifungal properties and it helps get rid of dead skin, dandruff and dirt, leaving the scalp clean, fresh and hydrated.
It is rich in vitamin E, Omega 6 & 9 fatty acids, and a saturated fatty acid called Docosanol that prevents viral infections. Antioxidants counter any matter that causes harm to the hair, and since the hair is made from protein the fatty acids keep them healthy and nourished from tip to base.
The molecular structure of the jojoba oil is the same as that of sebum, this oil fits in the role of our skin oil and keeps the hair and scalp healthy and nourished. The oil encourages hair growth, keeps the sebaceous glands healthy and stops them from producing excess oil.
Since the oil is the same as sebum, it is readily absorbed into the skin, what it does is, it dissolves any matter that is clogging the pores of the scalp and the hair follicles. With the base clean, the hair grows healthy.
Jojoba oil’s antiseptic properties prevent any bacteria from forming on your skin, prevents inflammation and infection.
Losing 100 hair a day is normal, but when the hair fall goes in excess, it is an issue that is mainly caused by blocked pores. Jojoba oil dissolves all pores blocking material and allows the skin to breathe.
Jojoba oil forms a protective layer over the hair that prevents moisture loss. It smooths down the cuticle (top layer of the hair) locks in the moisture and conditions the hair in the process.
Jojoba is an ideal ingredient to use as a hair serum as it calms your hair and does not weigh it down. This oil keeps the hair shiny and smooth throughout the day because it is light, non-greasy and easy to wash off.
Telogen Effluvium, a condition that causes your hair to fall out prematurely and forces the follicles to go into resting, which is overviewed as hair thinning. This oil encourages re-growth and thickens the hair, adds volume too.
Jojoba oil is an emollient, which means that it fills in the damaged spots in your hair shaft, controlling frizz. Nourishing the hair shaft while filling in damaged spots allows for the repair of any damage.
Massaging your head with this oil encourages blood circulation throughout. When the follicle base receives nourishment, hair growth rate increases and the results are visible in a short time period.
The oil works best when applied topically and massaged thoroughly on the hair and scalp. Just warm slightly (excess heating can cause burn to skin and denature the molecular structure of the oil itself, thereby making it useless so take precaution) and apply thoroughly. The oil will clear the scalp of any dust and dirt particles that may be blocking the pores. The antiseptic and anti-fungal properties will prevent any form of infection and inflammation. Just apply and leave overnight and wash off the next day with lukewarm water. In 2 weeks your hair will feel fresh, clean, smooth and healthy.
